Gummies have gained traction in the cannabis world as a delicious and effective way to consume marijuana. In Colorado alone, gummies make up 26% of edible sales and greatly outpace the sale of cannabis chocolate bars.
Gummies in the commercial cannabis market range from traditional gummy bears to gourmet French-style gelée treats, with varying dosages and ratios of cannabidiol (CBD) to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The rise in popularity of marijuana-infused gummies coincides with the popularity of microdosing. Gummy edibles are small and bite-sized, which allows patients to easily and discreetly dose medication throughout the day.

Cannabis gummies are easy to make at home, and you can tailor them to your individual needs by choosing your own flavors and amounts of THC and CBD. Traditional non-cannabis gummies are often sweet and full of sugars, dyes, and artificial flavors. When you make your cannabis gummies, you can opt to make them a little healthier by adding vitamins, probiotics and other supplements.
Gelées are a popular marijuana-infused edible and are slightly softer than typical gummies.
How to Make Your Own Marijuana Gummies
Ingredients
- 2 cups juice or liquid of choice
- 1/2 cup grass-fed gelatin
- 24 drops of cannabis tincture*
- sweetener to taste (I recommend honey or stevia)
*We used 24 drops of tincture, because the recipe makes roughly 24 servings, but you can adjust the amount of tincture based on the size of your molds and the strength of your tincture.
How To
Warm the liquid and sweetener to a simmer on the stove top.
Pull the liquid off the heat and mix in gelatin by whisking or blending.
Stir in your tincture.
Pour mixture into molds and allow to set in the fridge until firm. If you don’t already have molds, there are a variety to choose from—ranging from hearts, stars and circles to the classic, gummy bear shape.
Healthy Tips for Your Marijuana Gummy Recipe
The recipe calls for two cups of liquid and half a cup of gelatin, and while you can use any version of these two ingredients, here are some healthy options you can consider.
For a liquid, green juice or another kind of fruit and vegetable juice can add nutritious boost. If you’d like to add probiotics to your gummies, kombucha can also be used as a base for gummy treats.

Not all gelatin is created equal—grass-fed gelatin tends to be more nutrient dense than other gelatins on the market. Additionally, it’s filled with the same nutrients, minerals, and protein that makes bone broth beneficial.
Dust your marijuana gummies with sugar or stevia for a nice finish.
